Matcha Green Clay Mask

I love using two different clays, French Green Clay & Kaolin Clay

French Green Clay is mineral-rich, and gets its unique color thanks to both the presence of iron oxides as well as decomposed plant matter (algae, and seaweed like kelp). Its mined from naturally occurring deposits in France.

White Clay is the mildest of clays its also considered a cosmetic clay, its rich in silica and has a neutral PH. It comes from South-Eastern China.

Clay provides the skin with a healthy amount of moisture and helps skin remain supple and looking healthy. It also helps protect skin against external factors by strengthening the moisturizing barrier of your skin. It protects your skin from impurities, dirt, grime and lest not forget bacteria. Your skin comes in contact with quite a few aggressors on a daily basis and daily cleansing can help eliminate these skin invaders, but clay masks used three times a week can ensure a clean canvas.

These are just a few benefits of clay:

1. Reducing oily skin

2. Purifying and detoxifying the pores, removing dirt, grime, pollution, germs, etc.

3. Soothing sensitive and easily irritable skin

4. Effective weekly acne treatment

5. Exfoliates skin and removing dead cells and flaky, dry skin

6. Improving skin elasticity and delays the signs of aging

7. Reduces skin irritations such as bug bites, rashes, poison ivy, etc

Directions:

Cleanse and tone your skin prior to applying the mask.

In a small bowl, mix all ingredients together into a smooth paste.

Using a face mask brush or your fingers apply a thick layer of the mask to your face and neck.

Allow the mask to sit for 5 to 10 minutes.

To remove, gently wash with warm water.

Apply your favorite Serum or Moisturizer

***You can use this clay mask 3/4 times a week***

***To prevent skin from getting irritated, remove the mask before it dries completely. Any tightness or itchiness are signs that the mask is drying and ready to be washed off ALSO Some redness is perfectly normal after a clay mask.  If you let the mask fully dry, you will notice more redness***
